Communication with families is critical, especially during an emergency. Having a combination of communication tools - including email, phone and text - improves our ability to get information to families quickly.

Look for a welcome text message

Tacoma Public Schools is launching a new feature in our communication system that will ensure everyone with a mobile number in our database can receive SMS text messages from their school and the district.

Families can expect to receive a welcome text message during the first week of school. No action is required - this is simply letting families know they can receive texts.

If you do not receive texts

1. Double-check that your school has your cell phone number. Your contact information can be viewed and updated in ParentVUE.
2. If your number was opted out in the past, text "YES" to 67587 to receive texts.
