Travis students share recent projects and thank St. Joseph Medical Center

Last week, fourth-grade students from Travis Elementary made a special visit to St. Joseph Medical Center during a leadership staff meeting. Earlier this school year, St. Joseph Medical Center generously donated $11,870 to support the health and wellness of the Travis school community. The school has used these funds to purchase outdoor games and equipment, art supplies, journals, extra snacks and hygiene items, and more.

A few of the students opened the meeting by showcasing their recent grade-wide Black History Month projects, sharing what they learned about influential Black historical figures such as Ruby Bridges, Ella Fitzgerald, and Daniel Hale Williams. The presentations highlighted both their research and the creativity they brought to the project.

To close their visit, all of the students recited a thank-you poem to express their appreciation for the hospital’s generosity.

Thank you, St. Joseph Medical Center, for investing in our students!
