Contacting the Principal:
Our school day is a busy time with teaching and learning happening from bell to bell. I am usually on campus from 7:30am-4:30pm and try my best to return phone calls and emails within one school day. I also schedule most meetings in advance to make sure people get 100% of my attention without interruptions.
Visitors on Campus:
I have received requests to visit classrooms and observe school procedures. Below is the district’s Tacoma Public Schools visitor policy.
All visitors during school/work hours are required to:
- Enter through the main entrance.
- Sign in at the main office.
- Provide a form of identification. For staff, this includes your district badge.
Additional considerations:
- Parents or guardians who wish to observe a classroom or school activity during the school day while school is in session are required to arrange such visits in advance with the classroom teacher(s), with final approval by the Principal, so that class disruption is kept to a minimum.
- Employees who are expecting a visitor must notify the main office staff ahead of the visit.
- Visitors attending school functions that are open to the public, such as parent-teacher organization meetings or public gatherings, are not required to sign in at the main office
- Any unauthorized person on school property will be reported to the Principal or their designee. Unauthorized or disorderly persons will be asked to leave and must do so immediately. Refusal to leave may result in police intervention.
- All students, staff and visitors are expected to abide by the rules for public conduct on school property; and any additional rules or regulations imposed from time to time in connection with emergencies declared by District, City, County or State officials for any reason; or relating to alerts issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Cell Phones:
Students cannot use their cell phones at school.
Snacks & Toys Stay at Home:
Please keep toys, soda pop, gum, large bags of chips, and full-size candy at home! These items are distractions to learning.
Weather:
There will be rain this week. We go outside every day unless it is extreme weather. We are unable to keep students inside during recess.
