Arrival Procedures:
Students enter the building off the bus or through the front gate. We open the gate at 8:55am. Families can walk students to class the first 3 days of school. If you are walking your child to class, please enter school through the front gate.

• Grades 1-5 families can walk students to class Wed 09/09 - Fri 09/11.
• Kindergarten families can walk students to class Mon 09/14 - Wed 09/16.

Dismissal Procedures:
Students go home on the bus or by family pick up on the playground. We open the gate at 3:30. Students must be picked up on the playground by a guardian. Students are not able to leave the playground without a guardian and are not able to leave on their own to get in a vehicle.

Bussing:
If your child is taking the bus, you will need to sign them up online. Directions for signing up are in the diagram below. For more information, please see the Transportation website.

Important information about bussing: The bus will not drop off Kindergarten students at their bus stop without an adult picking them up. They will bring the child back to school. Families must write a note if they want a sibling to take their Kindergarten student home from the bus.

Free vaccinations at upcoming event

Free vaccinations will be available to Tacoma Public Schools students at an event at the MultiCare clinic at Mount Tahoma High School.

Event details:

• When: Thursday, Sept. 24, from 3:15-6:15 p.m. 3
• Where: MultiCare Clinic at Mount Tahoma High School: 4634 S. 74th St., Tacoma

Have you completed the CNEEB application? I’m asking all families to complete the application before Oct. 1. It's used to help decide how money is distributed across the school district, including our school. It can also impact families directly by reducing fees for athletics, before and after school programs, and college applications.

All schools start one hour later on Wednesdays except when noted otherwise, such as during conference weeks.

Catching the bus

If your child plans to take the bus to school, please download our free transportation app, My Ride K-12, for bus stop location, route and pickup times. Your child’s bus route will be available by Sept. 3. 

Update your information in ParentVUE before school starts

You can use ParentVUE to review and update forms needed for the start of school. Required information includes health history and contact information. Log into your account here.

Technology help

Please ensure your child's school laptop is updated, charged and ready to bring on the first day of school by plugging it in, connecting to Wi-Fi, and leaving it on overnight. New students will be provided with a laptop, a charging cord and help to set up their school account when school begins.
